SPORTS NEWS – Chelsea ready £12.8m wage package to tempt Romelu Lukaku as Blues face £105m transfer fee – NEWS SPORTS 2021

The Stamford Bridge club have already seen a bid of around £88m including defender Marcos Alonso rejected by Inter Milan.

The Italian club are determined not to sell the 28 year old – and Lukaku has such a good relationship with new coach Simone Inzaghi that the Inter boss has been running his transfer plans for the summer past the Belgian star.

Inter want more than £105m for their key striker before they will even start to begin thinking about any potential deal – but Chelsea are banking on the fact that the Serie A club have financial problems and could be forced into a sale.

Lukaku has so far snubbed any Chelsea offer though he has listened, and it is believed that in the end the final decision now will come down to the player, who spent three years at Stamford Bridge earlier in his career.

Chelsea have turned to their former player after having no success so far in tempting Norway striker Erling Haaland away from Borussia Dortmund.

Chelsea sold Lukaku to Everton for £28m seven years ago. But Inter now rate the striker, who they signed from Man United in 2019 for around a club-record fee £68m, as one of the best front men in world football.

The Stamford Bridge club have sold striker Olivier Giroud to AC Milan this summer and are prepared to let England star Tammy Abraham go if his £40m price can be matched.

Manager Thomas Tuchel has made it clear to the Chelsea hierarchy that he wants a top class striker as the Blues aim to compete for the Premier League title.

He’s a fantastic player,” Labeouf said of Kounde. “He has everything. He is a warrior. He never gives up. He has everything. He is the future for sure.

“Maybe it’s an opportunity for Chelsea to get him maybe not this season, but next season.–a38a7978

“I don’t know what Kounde wants to do in his life, if he’s ready to be on the bench more than he thinks he will be. It’s up to him. It would be a good signing for Chelsea.”

A deal for Kounde may have to wait until more defenders are sold by the Blues however with Kurt Zouma among those who could leave with West Ham admirers of the Frenchman
