HOW DOES THE BLOG WORK?
The teams are divided into four seed pots. Pot 1 consists of the titleholders, the winners of the UEFA Europa League and the champions of the six top-ranked nations who did not qualify via one of the continental titles in 2020/21; Pots 2 to 4 are determined by the club coefficient ranking.
No team can play a team from its own association. All other restrictions will be announced prior to the draw ceremony.

Which clubs are paired?
To ensure that paired clubs from the same country play on different days if possible, the eight groups are differentiated by color: groups A to D are red and groups E to H are blue. For example, if a paired club is drawn in one of the red groups (A, B, C or D), the other paired club automatically becomes one of the four blue groups (E, F, G or H) after the draw. The pairings are as follows:
A Chelsea & Manchester City
B Atlético de Madrid & Seville
C Inter & Juventus
D Bavaria & Dortmund
E LOSC Lille & Paris Saint-Germain
