Ben White is expected to undergo a medical examination at Arsenal on Wednesday, and the defender agreed with Brighton in the amount of 50 million pounds last week.

Ski Sports News reported in June that the Gunners had turned down £ 40 million for a rejected defender, while an improved bid of £ 47 million was also canceled before Brighton agreed to a £ 50 million fee.

Brighton also inserted a sales clause for White, who played in all of Graham Potter’s games except two in the Premier League last season after the South Coast club avoided relegation with 16th place.

The 23-year-old was selected by Gareth Southgate for the English campaign for Euro 2020 and played in two warm-up matches against Austria and Romania before the start of the tournament.

White also contributed to Brighton having the best joint defense in the lower half of the Premier League last season with 46 goals conceded.

The international defender of England joined the Seagulls in 2014 from Southampton and played 41 games for the club in all competitions.

He enjoyed a series of loans before joining the Brighton first team in the last term. White helped Leeds United Marcel Bielsa get a place in the Premier League when he spent the 2019/20 campaign on Elland Road.

White would become the third summer signed for Mikel Arteta after the arrival of left back Nun Tavares from Benfica and central midfielder Albert Sombi Lokonga from Anderlecht.

The Gunners, meanwhile, are considering a third offer worth 25 million pounds for the signing of Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Rumsdale.
